Did you know that the best color to wear when going for an interview is blue? Color psychologists believe that blue indicates that you are trustworthy, and it also tends to be most people’s favourite color. Grey is also a safe color as it gives an element of formality, and trustworthiness too. Both colors are perfect for an interview in a corporate environment. Black is regarded as authoritative, and brown and dark green are both ok, but you can be seen as a bit “alternative” if you wear a suit in that color. It all depends upon the culture and the environment that you are looking to work in.

Look out for the body language as you answer each question. Interview panels are very rarely like poker players, and will express themselves unwittingly. If you see some frowns, pursed lips, grimaces, false smiles, and the panel aren’t connecting with your gaze and looking down at your notes a lot, then you should know you are onto a losing streak.  Conversely, if you have laughter, vigorous nodding, lots of note taking, lots of friendly eye contact, and they mirror your words and body movements, then you are on to a winning streak.
